As a native of
I first met Martha when attending the precinct caucus of 2004 at Mission Viejo Elementary and was immediately impressed by her ability to lead and her passion for improving the state of our local, state and national government. Due to her patience and knowledge displayed at that caucus I was inspired to become more involved with the political process. Martha’s balance between passion and tactfulness was evident in our discussion about her run for the State House. I was honored to have her support in my own campaign for the same State House seat and relied on her for advice regarding issues such as managed growth, water conservation and the overall security of our communities.
In the years since 2004, Martha and I have grown to become friends. Martha and her husband Jim have been involved in many of the same campaigns I have worked on, and she has always been dependable and well versed on all the relevant issues. In every meeting I have attended with Martha her level of expertise has been crucial. She is the type of person that makes those around her better. She is gifted in her ability to listen to the ideas and concerns of others and then help to develop those into solid and attainable action plans.
Most of all, Martha is truly concerned about the well being of
others. Far too often, those
in or seeking office have the wrong motivation.
Martha is in this race for the right reasons and I am confident
that as a

Marty's race is one of the most important this election. We are not being represented properly.
Not only will Marty bring a Democratic majority to the Commission, she will bring a dedication
and commitment to the citizens of Arapahoe County.
Marty Karnopp would be an excellent County Commissioner. This is why I think so.
I have been a close personal friend of Marty over twenty years. During this time we have shared
thoughts, ideas, opinions, books, magazine articles, speeches that we think are important, and
personal likes and dislikes. We have shared our hopes for life and our plans to realize our hopes.
We have shared our hopes for others on this planet. We have shared our notions of what is fair and
for what policies have long term benefits for this small earth and its peoples. From this mutual
exploration of minds I know Marty's ideals. Few people on this planet care more for policies and
practices that derive from a higher moral compass.
The proof of one's belief however is not found simply in what they say. Those few who believe
deeply enough in certain values find a way to live out these values. They are simply uncomfortable
and unsatisfied living any other way. The proof is in the pudding. To gauge who she is simply
evaluate her life.
Marty's life is peppered. She has been a tireless worker for social justice for many years. She
politics to see that the blight of hunger in this land of plenty will soon end. She politics for justice
on the international and at the national level. She politics for justice at the local level supporting
candidates and causes that assure local society mirrors the high moral fabric that she holds dear.
On a practical level Marty understands that on the grand scale of time, morality prevails. We build
a stable and good society that can benefit all only by following a path and promoting goals that
are beneficial to self and neighbor. If history has proven anything it is that long term, morals pay
big dividends.
I only wish she could offer her life effort to my community. She will be a great help to yours, if she
is elected
